Carthago unveils C2-tourer luxury motorhome on Mercedes and Fiat bases

According to a promobil reader survey, 58% of motorhome owners reported defects in the past 12 months. Furniture problems rank fifth overall, but are more common in vehicles up to four years old.

The Jani family from Aalen is facing a severe crisis due to illness and financial hardship. Tanja Jani has been diagnosed with metastatic cancer and given a prognosis of three months to live. After losing their home and lacking funds, the family now lives in a 30-year-old caravan with mold and a rotting floor. A crowdfunding campaign has raised approximately €17,000 for funeral costs and to replace the dilapidated caravan.

As part of a service campaign in Vlotho, police and organizers of the Ahorn-Treffen motorhome rally conducted a weighing check. On May 29, a mobile scale was set up at the entrance to the Überland campsite. The initiative aims to ensure compliance with permissible gross vehicle weight and proper cargo securing for safe travel.

German company Ari has introduced the 458 Pro, an electric camper van measuring 1.49 m wide and 3.8 m long, built on the chassis of a small delivery van. The base van starts at €16,500, while the camper version with a 230 km battery and camping package costs around €30,000. It is powered by a 15 kW (20 hp) electric motor with a top speed of 70 km/h. Interior height is 1.85 m, but the interior fit-out is entirely DIY.

On the night of May 30–31 in Lippborg, Germany, a vintage motorhome parked on a public lot caught fire. The flames spread to a nearby car. Due to gas cylinders in the motorhome emitting torch flames, firefighters initially fought the blaze from a safe distance. No injuries were reported; the cause is under investigation.

Aldi Nord will offer the Adventuridge solar power bank for 19.99 euros starting June 1. The device has a capacity of 10,000 mAh, IP44 protection, and an integrated light with three modes. It can charge two devices simultaneously via USB ports. For longer trips, a model with higher capacity, such as Bextoo for 26 euros with 27,000 mAh and built-in cables, may be needed.
