The caravan market sees two opposites: the 11.5-meter Kabe Imperial 1000 TDL at €143,000 and the 4.2-meter micro E13 at €20,600. The first needs a heavy tow vehicle and BE license, the second CAN be towed even by an EV.

The caravan market shows polar trends: simultaneously introduced are the largest and most expensive caravan in the Netherlands and a compact model for electric cars.

Kabe Imperial 1000 TDL — European giant

Length 11.5 m, width 2.5 m, weight 2400 kg. Requires a vehicle with a permissible trailer mass of at least 2800 kg and a BE driving license. Price around €143,000, with 22 sq. m of space resulting in a high cost per square meter.

Escape E13 — micro caravan from Canada

Canadian manufacturer Escape Trailers unveiled the E13 model, 4.2 m long and 839 kg. Interior allows standing upright, but no bathroom. Price €20,600, designed to be towed even by electric vehicles.

Drilled in the chassis plate

A caravan owner accidentally drilled a hole through the chassis number plate. According to an expert, caravans from 1969 onward have a stamped chassis number on the frame. If that is missing, a new number can be stamped and a registration inspection performed, while keeping the original plate.
