A group of 12 RVs has departed from Xi'an, China, on an expedition through 30 Eurasian countries. The total route length exceeds 40,000 km, with return planned for September. The organizer is the Old John International RV Club (referred to as "Old John" in another source), which has been running such tours since 2016; this is the eighth trip.
Participants are mostly retirees traveling in their own RVs. They cook their own meals and stay at campsites or hotel parking lots. For entry into European countries, a Schengen visa and vehicle documentation are sufficient; according to one source, this is due to the expansion of visa-free arrangements.
