68 motorhomes gather on Shuangshan Island for 2026 riverside camping season

On 31 October, the Zhangjiagang Shuangshan Island stop of the 2026 Riverside Motorhome and Caravan Camping Season under the "Water Rhyme Jiangsu, Free Driving Tour" programme and an ecological river island tourism event opened at the Haitang Bay motorhome campsite. Sixty-eight motorhome crews took part in vehicle feature demonstrations, experience sharing, interactive camping equipment trials and family farm harvesting. Owner Zhang Li said her family had travelled across the country in the motorhome over more than two years. Ma Xiaoyu, deputy director of the city's culture, sports, radio, television and tourism bureau, said the city plans to build a network of campsites and outdoor recreation sites. The event also featured a tourism market, a lawn concert, an open-air film screening and a bonfire party, and launched digital products via the "Free Driving Tour" mini-programme. Four tourism projects and two strategic cooperation framework agreements were signed.
