Chinese company Vala has unveiled an electric mini camper based on a Wuling van. Dimensions are 3.6 m long, 1.5 m wide and 1.9 m high. Sleeping space is provided by a pop-up roof with integrated tent for two and a convertible bench seat for two more. A 30.6 kWh battery delivers up to 305 km of range on the Chinese CLTC cycle, and a 40 hp motor drives the rear wheels. Equipment includes a retractable television and a sliding counter for appliances, though the counter appears usable only with the rear door open. Vehicle-to-load allows powering devices from the high-voltage battery. The complete package is priced at under 15,000 euros, with about 8,000 euros for the base vehicle and 7,000 euros for the Vala kit. The model will not be sold in Europe.
