Chinese mini camper measures 3.6 metres, sleeps four and costs under 15,000 euros

Geely Remote has launched the X-VAN camper based on its electric Super VAN. The price is 269,900 yuan. Dimensions are 5018/1980/2140 mm with a wheelbase of 3100 mm. The interior features a 2+2+2 layout, front and second-row seats rotate 180 degrees, and the right side has a sliding door with no B-pillar. A pop-up roof provides a double bed. Power comes from a front-mounted single motor producing 170 kW, paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery from Gotion High-tech. CLTC range is 460 km. A 3.3 kW mobile power station function is also included.

A Sina News post details a five-day camper van trip with two children. The author divided luggage into four categories: bedding, clothing and shoes, kitchen items, and small items. While driving, the mattress, sheets, and quilt are placed in the rear compartment, and small items on the front passenger seat; when parked, three bags of clothing go under the rear seat, while a storage box and toilet tent are placed on the front passenger seat. Kitchenware and food are stored in the front trunk. The post stresses that children must sit in the back seat with seat belts fastened and that sleeping in the back while driving is prohibited.

Chery's Ruifu brand has introduced its first light truck motorhome, the N6 Pro. The model will debut at the Chengdu RV Show on September 19–21, 2026. Built on a HOWO Commander Pro chassis with a Weichai engine and 8-speed automatic transmission, it features a 25.6V 628Ah lithium battery (approximately 16 kWh), 2480W solar panels, a 400L fresh water tank and a 150L grey water tank. Dimensions are 5998×2540×3290 mm, allowing it to be driven with a standard C licence. The price range is 300,000–500,000 yuan.

Since April, hundreds of RVs have parked at the Baili Dujuan camping base in Bijie, Guizhou province, creating a seasonal community. Average temperatures around 19 C attract retirees, families and long-term travelers seeking relief from the heat. Daily parking fees range from 10 to 68 yuan depending on space and utilities. Site manager Chen Yan estimates about 42% stay three to four months, while only 10% stay less than a month. During peak season from May to September, the campground holds communal banquets, bonfire parties and performances.

Startup Vala has created an electric camper based on a Wuling EV that is shorter and narrower than a Chevrolet Bolt, yet can accommodate up to four people thanks to a pop-up roof tent and a convertible interior. Dimensions are 3600 mm long, 1500 mm wide and 1900 mm high. A 40 hp electric motor is powered by a 30.6 kWh battery, providing a CLTC range of up to 305 km. The vehicle costs less than €13,800, with the base car at about €7,360 and Vala’s added equipment at around €6,440. Appliances run off the traction battery via V2L technology.

Chinese company Xiaomi has unveiled the Skynomad N90 Max Studio, an electric camper based on its Skynomad N90 Max luxury SUV. The model features an electric pop-up roof, a convertible interior, and a range-extender powertrain. The price in China is 299,900 yuan, with deliveries starting at the end of 2026, initially only in the Chinese market. The combined range under the CLTC cycle is 1,688 km thanks to a 1.5-litre turbo engine acting as a range extender, while the pure electric range is 462 km. The SUV is 5.28 m long and 1.99 m wide, with a wheelbase of 3.08 m; with the roof raised, interior height increases to 2.29 m. The roof bed is up to 1.94 m long and supports 200 kg, and the second row converts into a bed in 30 seconds.
