China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism and nine other departments on September 18 released measures to promote motorhome consumption, addressing gaps in standards, parking, campsite land use and fragmented facilities. Beijing has about 60 motorhome campsites, mostly in outer suburbs; a recent show in Shunyi sold nearly 100 vehicles for over 10 million yuan. The measures scrap mandatory scrapping for small self-propelled motorhomes and extend service life for rental units, reducing ownership costs.

In 2026, Dalian has several sites allowing both camping and picnicking. Free lawns and places where own tents are permitted include Tanglihu Park in Xishan National Park and Xiajiahezi Beach in Ganjingzi District; Xiajiahezi has shallow water and free parking. For seaside barbecue, Jinshitan is cited with a sea area of 58 sq km, permitting sea bathing, beach barbecue and bonfires. For a motorhome stay without carrying gear, Yintai Motorhome Campground Yinshatan branch is the city's first motorhome camping park, offering motorhome and tent camping areas, a self-service BBQ kitchen, supermarket and cafe; it holds a 5C rating. In the city, Laodong Park and Diamond Bay World Coastal Park are suitable for half-day picnics. Camping fees and open-fire rules are mostly unspecified and should be confirmed on site.

The Fangchengbao Tai 7 camper is priced from 195,800 to 225,800 yuan and offers a factory folding bed function with a range of over 1,300 km. The vehicle, over 5 meters long with a 2,920 mm wheelbase, includes a 6,000 W external discharge, a 220 V socket in the trunk, and 47 storage interfaces. With the rear seats folded, cargo volume reaches 1,880 liters, but a 5 cm step remains between the seats and the trunk. A custom storage box to level the floor costs between 2,000 and 5,000 yuan; a basic modification package with the box, roof rack, and privacy curtains is estimated at 8,000–10,000 yuan, while a full setup ranges from 15,000 to 20,000 yuan.

The Wuling Xingguang 730 PHEV is positioned as a minivan priced around 100,000 yuan suitable for camper conversion. Folding the second- and third-row seats creates a bed measuring approximately 1.8 m by 1.2 m, allowing an adult to lie flat without modifications. Three conversion options are offered: from 1,600 yuan (simple storage box with mattress) to 15,000 yuan (full kit with lift table, side awning, lithium battery, inverter, fridge and roof box). The model features a plug-in hybrid powertrain, a total range exceeding 1,000 km and fuel consumption of about 5.2 L/100 km.
