Karmann has presented the Dexter 555 model based on the Fiat Ducatoⓘ with a 140 hp diesel engine. The vehicle is 5.99 m long, 2.05 m wide, and about 2.90 m high with a high insulated roof (according to other data, 2.89 m). Standard configuration offers four seats, with a fifth optional.
The key feature is an electric double bed that lowers from the high roof over the living area, while two single beds are located at the rear. Thus, the camper provides four fixed sleeping places without needing to fold or transform the living space during the day. The rear transverse bed measures 184×130/124 cm. Ceiling height in the rear and near the kitchen is 2.10 m, but under the raised bed in the seating area it drops to 1.89 m, and even lower when the bed is lowered.
Standard equipment includes a 120 Ah lithium battery, diesel heater, cruise control, cab air conditioning, Isofix mounts, electric step, and heated waste water tank. Fresh water capacity is 100 L, waste water 100 L, and the refrigerator has a volume of 113 L. Optional packages include Boost (second lithium battery, 200 W solar panel), Concept (captain's chairs, rear-view camera), and Smart (climate control, keyless entry). The price starts at €72,400.
