Karmann-Mobil has unveiled the Dexter 580 Sky Up for the 2027 season, a version of its Fiat Ducato campervan with an additional double bed in a pop-up roof. The Sky-Up roof uses a double scissor hinge to provide around 50 cm of headroom across the entire sleeping area and has a GRP shell with 2 cm polyurethane insulation. The layout retains a rear transverse bed, a bathroom with a pivoting shower wall and a kitchen block, with four berths and four seatbelts. A 120 Ah lithium battery is standard, while a second battery, a 200 W solar panel and a 6 kW air conditioner are optional. The pop-up roof adds about 140 kg, and the gross vehicle weight remains 3,500 kg. The Dexter 580 starts at 62,490 euros, with the Sky-Up roof listed at an additional 6,990 euros, bringing the minimum total to 69,480 euros.
In Burgdorf, a black Fiat Karmann Mobil Davis 590 motorhome parked on the roadside on Peiner Weg was stolen between the evening of Sunday, 4 October 2026, and the morning of Monday, 5 October. Police estimated its value at around 30,000 euros. In the night to 5 October, at least one unknown perpetrator broke into eight garden sheds at the "Auf dem Hungerkamp" allotment association on Sorgenser Grundweg, forcing open entrance doors and searching the sheds; damage is estimated at around 500 euros per shed, and what was stolen has not yet been fully determined. Burgdorf police ask witnesses to call 05136/961-4115.
Karmann Mobil has added the Dexter 555 to its Dexter range, a new floorplan with a front drop-down bed based on the H3 version of the Fiat Ducato.
