A caravan came loose from its towing car near Petting on Tuesday afternoon, 3 November. The 65-year-old Austrian driver had left the campsite in Kühnhausen at around 13.05 with the caravan in tow. Shortly before the junction with the TS23 district road, the caravan detached from the car for reasons that are still unclear.
The caravan left the road and hit a telephone pole in a meadow. The pole broke off in the impact. According to an initial estimate by Freilassing police, damage to the caravan is around €10,000 and damage to the pole around €500, bringing the total to roughly €10,500.
