On June 16, 2026, a caravan being towed by a car caught fire while driving on the B17 near Möllersdorf/Traiskirchen, Lower Austria. The driver noticed smoke, stopped, and managed to uncouple the trailer and remove the gas cylinder before the flames engulfed it.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but the caravan was completely burned out. According to some sources, the fire was first spotted by the driver; according to others, by a train driver of the Badner Bahn. The heat damaged elements of a public transport stop (Wiener Lokalbahnen), including a sign, display board, and partition. No injuries were reported. Traffic on the B17 was disrupted. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
