On Sunday, around 150–200 caravans of travellers were spotted in Belgium's Centre region. The convoy initially passed through Marche-lez-Écaussinnes but eventually stopped in Familleureux (municipality of Seneffe). Mayor Bénédicte Poll of Seneffe met with group representatives to discuss cohabitation conditions, including waste management and a 15-day stay limit. Previously, the same site had issues with water and electricity access.
Earlier, on Sunday 7 June, about a hundred caravans of travellers illegally occupied a private plot on Route de Warnant in Fumal (Braives). Mayor Xavier Lizin (also spelled Xavier Lizein in other sources) was notified by residents around 5 p.m. and is negotiating their departure. The plot is in a flood zone, posing a safety risk, but travellers stated that risk is part of their lifestyle. Police are patrolling around the clock. The travellers have promised to leave by 21 June.
