Police search for two men who robbed tourists and set their motorhome on fire in La Roche-en-Ardenne

Belgian federal police have issued a wanted notice for two men who on July 31 in Samrée, near La Roche-en-Ardenne, threatened a couple with a knife, stole money and valuables, and then set their motorhome on fire. The owner, trying to save his dogs, was seriously burned when the vehicle exploded. The suspects fled in a dark blue car towards Baraque de Fraiture. Police ask anyone with information to contact 0800 30 300 or opsporingen@police.belgium.eu.

Fifth Festivan: Rising fuel prices do not deter travelers

According to Statbel, diesel prices rose by about 18% between January and June 2026. A motorhome was stolen on Rue de Liège in Lontzen during the night of 30 July 2026, after a failed attempt two nights earlier. On the night of 27–28 July, the same thieves tried to steal it but were foiled when the owner's dog barked continuously between 2 and 3 a.m. The owner checked the vehicle; police found it had been opened with an electronic device and a short-circuit attempt was detected, causing material damage. The second attempt, two days later, succeeded.

Man killed in motorhome explosion in Belgium

On Saturday afternoon in Leefdaal, Flemish Brabant, a 51-year-old man died in an explosion in his motorhome. A fire had broken out in the vehicle before the blast. The Leuven public prosecutor's office considers the incident an accident. The motorhome was parked next to the man's house; he was trying to extinguish the fire himself when the explosion occurred. An investigation has been launched, with fire investigators and a forensic pathologist dispatched to the scene.

Blown caravan tyre causes roadside fire on E34 between Oud-Turnhout and Arendonk

A large grass fire broke out along the E34 motorway between Oud-Turnhout and Arendonk on Tuesday afternoon. Fire crews took about two hours to extinguish the blaze, which spread over roughly 100 metres of verge. The fire is believed to have been sparked by a blowout on a caravan travelling on the highway. The right lane towards the Netherlands was closed during the operation.

Ghent bans motorhomes overnight at Park&Ride Muide

Silly offers vintage caravan stays for Théâtre au Vert festival’s 25th edition

The Silly tourist office is launching a new accommodation option for the Théâtre au Vert festival. From 11 to 16 August, four restored caravans from the 1960s–1980s will be placed near the venue, each sleeping two people. The rate is €95 per night, with bookings required by 15 July. Bicycle rental, local breakfasts, and pitches for tents, campervans and motorhomes are also available.

62-chalet holiday park project on former Hertogenwald campsite in Eupen ready to launch

Project author Philippe Debor plans to build a holiday park with 62 chalets on the 4-hectare former Hertogenwald campsite. The project is backed by international operator Prism, with 25 chalets to be sold to investors. Total cost is estimated at €7–8 million. Following flood risk criticism, the number of chalets was reduced from 80 to 62; they will be raised on one-meter stilts, with retention basins and permeable paving. The project will centralize warehousing and logistics for Dicar's seven branches, relocate workshop activities, and add a motorhome rental department and a professional photo studio. The B2B unit Camperdeal will also be based there.
