On the evening of August 9, about 15 caravans and vehicles illegally occupied a municipal plot in Saint-Ephémie (Ain department), despite the mayor's refusal. The municipality had installed two concrete blocks in front of the gate, but the travelers moved one (weighing about two tons) and entered.
Mayor Emmanuel Géniquet filed a complaint because the travelers also connected to a fire hydrant for water. He is asking police to intervene.
