Several incidents of illegal caravan encampments on municipal property occurred in France in July 2026.
- Mirepeisset (near Narbonne) — On July 25, about ten caravans occupied a site near the tennis club, breaking a lock and connecting to water and electricity. The mayor agreed on their departure by the end of the week.
- Nieul-le-Dolent (Vendée) — On July 19, 120 caravans of evangelicals occupied a football field. The municipality made an oral agreement allowing parking until July 26 for 2000 euros for water and electricity. If conditions are not met, eviction proceedings will be initiated.
- Vinon-sur-Verdon (Var) — On July 18, about twenty caravans, reportedly from a traveller site in Oraison, occupied a football training stadium. The mayor demanded the area be vacated; the town referred the matter to the sub-prefecture of Brignoles.
- L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (Vaucluse) — On July 12, about a hundred caravans entered the Saint-Jean stadium, moving concrete blocks. The municipality called the situation "unbearable" and began eviction procedures.
