On the night of May 1, in the Via Pistoiese area of Florence, police arrested a 33-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both Bulgarian nationals, on suspicion of stealing from a campervan. The suspects damaged a window, entered the vehicle, and stole property before attempting to flee on a moped (according to other sources, a stolen scooter) with altered license plates.
During the arrest, burglary tools and stolen items were seized. The moped was found to be stolen. Both suspects have prior convictions. They were brought before a court under fast-track proceedings on charges of aggravated theft, receiving stolen goods, forgery, and resisting arrest.
