On the night of May 1, 2026, police in Florence arrested a 33-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, both Bulgarian nationals, after an attempted theft from a parked camper on Via Pistoiese. The suspects damaged a window to gain entry and stole items, then tried to flee on a scooter, driving against traffic.
A witness on a balcony alerted police. Upon arrest, burglary tools and stolen goods, including clothing, were found. The scooter turned out to be stolen with altered license plates. Both have prior convictions and appeared in court under fast-track proceedings.
