On the evening of Saturday, June 6, on the A8 motorway between Anger and Neukirchen (Bavaria), a motorhome belonging to a family from Munich suffered a blowout of its rear right tire. The driver lost control, the motorhome hit the guardrail and overturned onto its side, blocking the roadway.
Three occupants sustained minor injuries and were taken to a clinic in Traunstein. Traffic on the motorway was completely blocked for more than an hour, according to one source until 21:30. A traffic jam of more than five kilometers formed. 33 firefighters were deployed to clear the scene. Police estimated the total damage at 30,000 euros.
