A large fire broke out at a camper and caravan storage on Provincialeweg Noord in Almkerk, Netherlands, on Wednesday evening. The alarm was raised around 19:00. Several fire crews are on scene, and a GRIP 1 protocol has been declared. A large building and several campers on the adjacent grounds are burning.
According to one source, eight campers were destroyed. By around 20:15, the fire was contained. Firefighters managed to prevent the flames from spreading to the hangars. The cause of the fire and any injuries are not yet known. Thick black smoke was visible over a wide area.
According to the Mid- en West-Brabant safety region, the fire destroyed eight vehicles, and firefighters prevented the spread to a neighbouring building. According to another source, the fire occurred on Provincialeweg-Zuid, the report came in around 19:05, and the extent of the damage is not yet known. According to Nieuws.nl, the campers were parked on the street next to a large hangar, and firefighters managed to save the adjacent hangar with caravans.
