On Sunday afternoon, a camper on Vierbundersweg on the border of Dongen and Rijen (Netherlands) was completely destroyed by fire. The driver managed to leave the vehicle; no injuries were reported. Firefighters arriving found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames; several bangs were heard, possibly from gas cylinders. The road was temporarily closed, and the cause of the fire has not been established.
Earlier, on July 7, a camper caught fire on Molenstraat in Ede: firefighters quickly contained the blaze, police closed a section of the road, no injuries were reported, and the camper was damaged. The same day in Zwartewaal on Klinkerseweg around 20:40, a converted van caught fire: the driver noticed smoke from the engine compartment, and the vehicle was completely burned out. On July 6, a parked camper burned completely on the parking lot at the Uitsmijters '55 baseball club on Maardijk in Almelo; firefighters arrived around 23:00, no injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation.
