In Kayseri, Turkey, around 30 caravans, containers, and numerous tents were submerged after sudden rising waters in the Tekir Lake basin on Mount Erciyes. Heavy rainfall and melting snow caused the lake to return to its former boundaries. Tourists had mistaken the dried-up lakebed for a campsite despite warnings about the risk of flooding.
