A parked camper van caught fire in the garden of a residential complex on Konuralp 550 Street in Düzce. The cause has not yet been established. Residents saw the flames and called the Düzce municipality fire service.
Firefighters reached the scene quickly and put out the fire, which had engulfed the camper van, before it could spread to the building next to it. The camper van was completely destroyed and windows cracked in some flats in the nearby building. There are no reports of injuries or deaths.
Authorities have opened an investigation into the cause of the fire. There is no official statement yet on how it started. About a week earlier, in the same district, the engine of a moving car caught fire on Konuralp Necmi Hoşver Avenue and the vehicle was destroyed; that incident is not directly linked to the camper van fire.
