Two separate incidents in the Netherlands on June 20 resulted in the complete destruction of campers.
In Groenlo, a parked camper burned out completely in the morning. Firefighters contained the blaze and prevented it from spreading to a nearby gym. Several small gas cylinders exploded from the heat, while larger ones remained intact. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
In Brouwershaven, lightning struck a camper on a campsite overnight, causing it to catch fire. Firefighters arrived around 03:00, extinguished the flames, and removed two gas cylinders and a battery. Special tools were needed to open the door and remove a seat. The preliminary cause is a lightning strike.
