On the evening of 20 July 2026, a caravan caught fire in a forest near Wissen (Schönstein district). The fire completely destroyed the caravan and damaged shrubs and trees over an area of 30–40 square metres. About 40 firefighters extinguished the blaze; no injuries were reported. The damage amount and cause of the fire are under investigation.
