On Monday evening, a 46-year-old man driving a BMW on the A81 between the Osterburken and Boxberg junctions failed to notice in time a vehicle combination consisting of a Seat and a caravan that was changing from the right to the left lane. Despite emergency braking, he could not avoid a collision with the caravan. The impact caused the combination to swerve, hit the central barrier and then the right guardrail, where the caravan tipped over. The 49-year-old driver of the Seat and his 44-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospitals. Damage is estimated at around 30,000 euros.
