Mercedes-Benz will showcase updated Marco Polo and Marco Polo Horizon campers at the Caravan-Salon trade fair in Düsseldorf (August 28 – September 6). A new all-wheel-drive option for fully integrated motorhomes based on the Sprinter will also be presented.
Production of the Marco Polo and Horizon will be fully transferred to Mercedes-Benz, which should increase flexibility. Improvements include lighting, shading, acoustics, and connectivity. Technical data and prices have not yet been disclosed.
The Torque-on-Demand all-wheel-drive system will be available for fully integrated models, providing automatic torque distribution between axles. The first prototype with this system will be shown by Swedish company Kabe (Imperial Ri830 Traq 4x4). Last year, every tenth Sprinter sold was purchased by customers in the motorhome sector.
A historic Benz Patent-Motorwagen is also on display at the stand in Hall 17 to mark the brand's 140th anniversary. The KABE Imperial Ri830 TRAQ 4x4 prototype is shown in Hall 6. Other Sprinter-based novelties are presented by Rhön Camp, LAIKA, Offtrack, AllRoad, Captain Camper and ATLANTIS.
Additionally, Mercedes-Benz has expanded its partnership with ChargePoint to improve charging infrastructure for fleets. Mercedes-Benz shares, despite a 24% decline since the start of the year to €45.92, are considered undervalued by analysts.
