The largest campsite on the German North Sea coast, located in Schillig (Lower Saxony), has been put up for sale. The reason is the bankruptcy of operator Wangerland Touristik GmbH (WTG), caused by cost overruns in the construction of a thalasso center.
According to WTG, offers for the campsite and the Friesland-Therme thermal complex have already been received from interested parties and are currently being evaluated. For the thalasso spa (TMS), an additional process for submitting concepts and offers has been launched, with a deadline of August 6. A final decision on TMS is expected by the end of September.
Long-term campers are concerned about possible price increases and changes to conditions.
