Sandy Pines Campground sale approved; Streamside Parks buys glamping resort for $13.5M

Streamside RV Resorts and Campgrounds has acquired Sandy Pines Campground in Kennebunkport, Maine, in a court-approved sale. The purchase marks the company's 40th acquisition since its founding in 2023. The resort, which features 83 RV sites, 46 tent sites, and 66 glamping sites, had been undergoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Atlantic Hospitality will continue to manage the park through the end of the 2026 season.

Go RVing, the consumer-facing marketing campaign of the RV industry, has become the Official RV Partner of the 2026 Pickleball World Championships in Dallas. The partnership includes space on Pickleball Boulevard for showcasing RVs. Last November, over 60,000 fans attended the tournament at Brookhaven Country Club. Private RV campgrounds are increasingly adding pickleball courts as an amenity.

Flamingo Everglades, the southernmost district of Everglades National Park, is promoting eco-glamping tents with views of Florida Bay and RV campsites. The owner is using the journey to decide whether a more aerodynamic trailer, such as a Casita or Scamp, is worth the investment. Earlier, on a 828.1-mile shakedown trip between Seattle and Post Falls, towing efficiency was 1.17 mi/kWh. The owner notes that efficiency is affected not only by weight but also by aerodynamics and additional equipment like a roof rack.

In Boulder County, Colorado, 213 lots of the San Lázaro mobile home park, home to over 800 people, face potential sale to a private investor for $42.5 million. The owner, San Lázaro Properties LLP, conditionally accepted an offer, prompting fears of displacement and rent increases. Under state law, residents have a right of first refusal to make a competing offer within 120 days of notice, issued on August 5, 2026, with a deadline in mid-December. A motorhome caught fire and exploded on Pleasantdale Road in DeKalb County, Georgia, on Monday night. Witness Patrick Ragland said two adults and two children jumped out, and a man ran back inside to rescue a small dog. Everyone got out safely before multiple explosions occurred. The cause of the fire is unknown, and the family members' names have not been released.
