The Kia PV5 Cargo electric van, originally intended for commercial use, has become a popular base for DIY camper van conversions. After government subsidies, its price drops to 20-25 million won (approx. $14-18k), which is about half the cost of an average electric car in South Korea. Owners legally remove the partition between the cab and cargo area and outfit the space, costing around 2-2.5 million won. Key limitations are the lack of a standard air conditioning system in the cargo area and a maximum capacity of two people.
