Taylor and Zoey converted a new 2021 InTech Discover toy hauler trailer into a 9.1 m² off-grid home, spending $15,000 on the conversion on top of the $27,000 trailer price. The roof-mounted solar array provides 1,400 watts, supplemented by 400 watts of portable panels, three 100 Ah batteries, four MPPT controllers, and a 3,000-watt inverter; in winter they also use a dual-fuel Westinghouse generator rated at 4,500 watts. The couple has lived in the trailer for five years and does not plan to upgrade to a larger caravan.
