In Gallipoli, in the Padula Bianca area, the financial police seized an area of about 8,000 square meters that was operating as an illegal campsite disguised as a motorhome parking lot. The site, located near the maritime state property and subject to strict landscape restrictions, contained unauthorized structures: a parking lot, a motorhome and car parking area, a bar, toilets, showers, and a laundry. The manager, a local man, was reported for violations of the Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code and the Building Code; the owner's possible involvement is under investigation. A similar operation was carried out a year earlier in Porto Cesareo.
