Sweden registered 332 new motorhomes in October 2026, compared with 329 in October 2025, a rise of 0.9%. From January to October 5,484 motorhomes were registered, against 3,845 in the same period of 2025, an increase of 42.6%.
Caravan registrations fell. In October 87 caravans were registered, against 135 a year earlier, a drop of 35.6%. So far this year registrations are down 10.2% at 1,226, against 1,366.
Statistics and sales
Per Nilsson, chair of the industry association HRF, said October left motorhome numbers almost unchanged, so the accumulated increase mainly reflects earlier in the year. He said there is no clear recovery yet in caravan registrations.
HRF notes that the figures include vehicles registered in advance because of rule changes, before they were sold to customers. When those vehicles are later sold, no new registration is made, so the statistics cannot be read directly as customer sales.
Statistics Sweden reported that retail sales volume in September was 5.5% higher than a year earlier but slightly lower than in August. The October barometer from the National Institute of Economic Research showed households' expectations for the future worsened. Households are also somewhat more likely than usual to plan to cut spending on durable goods in the coming year.
