La Strada celebrated its 40th anniversary of motorhome production by comparing a 1986 VW T3-based HD 80 with the current Avanti F Edition 40. The event took place at the Keltenmuseum am Glauberg near Echzell, Hesse. The HD 80, a high-top camper with a 50 hp diesel, dates from 1986, when the company was founded as Baumgartner Reisemobile GmbH. The Avanti F Edition 40 offers a 140 hp diesel as standard, an optional 180 hp engine for 2784 euros, and an Edition 40 package with induction hob, inverter and lithium battery for 3500 euros.
