Opening
On Monday, a new 30-space motorhome area opened in Lugones (municipality of Siero, Asturias) on Calle Puerto Somiedo, next to the ERA nursing home. It is the first area in the municipality with access control: entry is regulated by a camera and barrier, and access is possible via an app after registering and entering vehicle and passenger details.
Investment and fees
Investment totalled 164,905.50 euros, of which 124,981 euros was provided by the Asturian government from NextGeneration EU funds. According to Source 2, the Siero council's investment exceeded 160,000 euros. The fee is 8 euros per 24 hours (maximum 48 consecutive hours), and for 3 euros users can use the drain and water fill for one hour.
Plans and opinions
Mayor of Siero Ángel García said the search continues for a site for a similar area in La Pola. President of the Asturias Motorhome Club Florentino Álvarez noted that such facilities promote year-round tourism and generate income for local businesses.
