The administration of Piazza Armerina has approved urgent negotiations with the State Property Agency to acquire a plot at the city's northern entrance, essential for creating a new camper stopover area. The €255,092.07 project is funded by the Italian Ministry of Tourism under the development of outdoor and sustainable tourism. If ownership is not finalized before work completion, the municipality risks losing the funding. The new site on Via Conte Ruggero replaces the originally planned location and will be integrated with walking and cycling routes, including the Cammino di San Giacomo in Sicily.
