Spain is actively expanding its network of motorhome parking and service areas. In the province of Burgos, nearly 50 municipalities already offer such spaces, with the total number of parking spots exceeding 500. New projects are being implemented in Poza, Bust de Bureba and Neila. Covarrubias has 45 spaces, Sarracín de la Lora 16, and Villangómez 13.
In Navarre, the municipality of Arguedas has opened a new paid motorhome area, timed to coincide with the Easter holidays. The site is equipped with showers, toilets, electricity and a waste disposal point. Access is via an app with automatic barriers, and the area is fenced and has video surveillance. An official opening ceremony is planned for May, together with the BTT centre.
In the Murcia region, Las Torres de Cotillas has opened its second motorhome service area. The project cost €35,800, financed by the regional government of Murcia (€30,000) and the local council. Located in the San Jorge industrial park, it includes water supply, wastewater drainage, electricity, a picnic area and infrastructure adapted for people with reduced mobility.
In Asturias, the Ministry of Mobility has tendered for a motorhome parking area in San Esteban (Muros de Nalón). The work, worth €150,501, involves developing a 850-square-metre plot. Bids were accepted until 17 April. In Erandio, construction has begun on a 17-space motorhome parking area next to the football field in Arteaga.
