Gyeonggi Province releases photos of Jarasum auto camping site

The parking lot of Namdong Sports Complex in Incheon is being used for long-term storage of campers, caravans, and trailers for yachts and water leisure equipment, raising concerns about poor management. Photos taken on September 3 show large vehicles occupying multiple parking spaces. Local residents complain that the parking lot is not a warehouse for personal leisure equipment. The Namdong-gu office has not yet conducted an inspection to verify compliance with parking regulations.

Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is facing criticism for pursuing a zoning change for the Yuldong motorhome campsite while it is under investigation for alleged legal violations. The city argues the change is meant to resolve legal uncertainties, not to retroactively legalize the facility. Provincial special judicial police contend the campsite should be registered under the Tourism Promotion Act, not the Parks and Green Spaces Act, and that its area exceeds the limit for such zones.

Seongnam city has begun administrative procedures to change the zoning of the land under the Yuldong auto campsite in Bundang's Yuldong Park, which is under investigation for operating without registration and exceeding the permitted area. Gyeonggi Province's special judicial police have been investigating city officials since late June on suspicion of violating the Tourism Promotion Act. The city argues the campsite is a legitimate park facility under the Park and Green Space Act and has requested an official interpretation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The campsite, covering 23,000 square meters with 96 camping pads, has been operating since June 2025.

The city of Seongnam has stated that reports about the repurposing of the Yuldong Auto Camping Site are not true. The authorities clarified that the camping site will continue to operate, and plans to use it as a base for civic groups have not been confirmed. Earlier reports suggested a possible closure, but officials have denied this.

Kia will debut the PV7 electric van at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover on October 14. The model is 57 cm longer than the PV5 (527 cm vs. 470 cm), potentially appealing to camper conversion companies. Some have already indicated plans to adopt the PV7.
