THE GRATEFUL CAMP 2026

A two-day family camp for people with disabilities and their families took place at Deogok Alps Campground in Ulju County from August 13 to 14. The event was the first outcome of an agreement between the municipal campground and the Ulsan Association of Day Centers for the Disabled. Seven insect-shaped caravans were used for accommodation. Organizers plan to expand programs to make outdoor recreation more accessible.

Deokpojin Forest Caravan Park, located in Daegot-myeon, Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, offers camping in caravans surrounded by nature. The park operates by reservation, with the entrance fee included in the caravan rental price. It provides parking for about 50 vehicles and is accessible by car (about 1 hour from Seoul) or by public transport (bus from Gimpo to Daegot-myeon, then on foot). Nearby attractions include Ara Marina and Heyri Art Village.

MBC's 'Today N' on August 13 will feature a story about a family of seven siblings, where the eldest, Kim Mun-jae (71), gave three campers converted from pickup trucks and an electric vehicle to his younger siblings. Four of them met at a campsite in Hongcheon County, where ordering braised chicken allows free use of the site. The gifts included campers with toilets and spacious pop-up tents for sisters and an electric camper for a fishing-loving brother.

A man in his 30s was arrested by police in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, on charges of sexually assaulting a sleeping woman in a caravan and assaulting a man who intervened. The incident occurred around 11:50 p.m. on August 10 at a campsite in Geumdae-ri, Gapyeong-eup. The suspect, an employee of a nearby water sports company, was intoxicated at the time. He admitted to entering the caravan but denied the allegations of assault and molestation.
