Caravan hire will be available at 16 campgrounds in New South Wales national parks, with bookings opening in November. The service targets families with young children, people with mobility challenges and first-time campers who do not own equipment. The campgrounds are located across the Central Coast, South Coast, Southern Ranges, Sydney, Blue Mountains and Central West regions and make up just over 4% of the state's national park campgrounds. They include The Ruins Campground in Booti Booti National Park and Camp Blackman in Warrumbungle National Park. Visitors book an existing caravan site through the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service booking system and arrange hire and set-up directly with approved supplier Camplify Co. Hiring a caravan is expected to cost an average of $165 per night, with campsite fees paid separately. Tent hire is also returning to The Basin campground in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, where it operated from 2015 to 2024.
