Owners of motorhomes, caravans and campervans are advised to distinguish between factory-installed insulation and aftermarket measures. Factory insulation is determined at the manufacturing stage and varies by vehicle type: campervans and semi-integrated motorhomes often have poor cab insulation, while fully integrated motorhomes and caravans offer more consistent thermal protection. Aftermarket solutions such as thermal mats, pop-top insulation hoods and internal window covers can reduce nighttime heat loss by 30–40% and extend the camping season. Lack of proper insulation leads to condensation, corrosion and mould, affecting health and interior durability.
