Trumaⓘ has published guidance on preparing a camper for winter use. Before the first winter trip, the heating system should be tested in all available modes, warm air flow checked at every outlet, the exhaust flue inspected for blockages and the mains connection and fuse checked on electrically assisted heaters. For diesel heaters, the company recommends refuelling with winter diesel in advance. The water system requires frost protection: warm air must reach pipes in the underfloor and external lockers, and the heating should not be switched off completely. The Truma FrostControl valve opens automatically at around 3 °C to protect Truma Combi heaters from frost damage. Gas reserve, battery charge level and charging equipment should also be checked.
