Travelling the Golden Ring with a caravan: cost breakdown

A trip along Russia's Golden Ring with a caravan can reduce accommodation costs compared with hotels. Five to six hotel nights at 5,000–7,000 roubles each would cost more than 30,000 roubles, while a campsite pitch costs 500–1,500 roubles per night, or 3,000–9,000 roubles for six nights. The calculation excludes caravan hire, extra fuel and other expenses. Routes across the eight Golden Ring cities take 3–10 days and cover 450 to over 1,000 km. In 2025 the Golden Ring received national tourist route status.
