The growth of itinerant tourism using motorhomes, campervans and caravans in Argentina is creating opportunities for small towns, campsites and roadside businesses, but the lack of dedicated infrastructure and an integrated service network limits its potential. The National Parks Administration recognises recreational vehicles as a specific category and provides pitches for motorhomes and caravans in camping areas, with requirements for access roads suitable for large vehicles and water management services. In Córdoba, some tourist towns offer assistance points with drinking water and grey and black water disposal. In September 2026, the Brazilian municipality of Fernandópolis opened a support point for motorhomes with drinking water, electricity, waste disposal and two electric charging spaces. Argentina's National Secretariat of Tourism and Environment has included caravan tourism among the products for which it develops guides for regional technical teams.
