Authorities of the Argentine province of Entre Ríos, together with the national tourism secretariat and the mixed tourism entity Emturer, are conducting a study to develop tourism by motorhomes, campers and caravans. The pilot phase covered nine municipalities, including Villaguay and Gualeguaychú.
According to the consultancy report, 30% of surveyed sites (according to other data, campsites) already have infrastructure for such vehicles. Priorities include creating water supply points and wastewater disposal stations (for gray and black water), as well as developing a flexible provincial regulatory framework to regulate overnight stays and integrate tourists with the local economy.
The consultations are funded by the Federal Investment Council. A digital registry of suppliers and authorized stopping places is also planned.
