The Yanminghu motorhome campsite in Shaya County, Xinjiang, has become a popular stop for self-drive tourists during the autumn poplar viewing season. According to the county media centre, motorhomes from various parts of China were parked at the site on 19 October. The campsite offers parking, rest and supply areas, charging facilities and public toilets. Visitors are waiting for the poplar leaves to turn fully yellow before viewing the riverside groves. County authorities plan to improve campsite services and link the site with tourism routes along the Tarim River.
