Natur & City Camping in Ellwangen recorded more than double the overnight stays compared to the previous year during the Landesgartenschau season. The city invested 6.685 million euros in a 17-month renovation completed in April 2025, after which the campsite received four stars under the BVCD/DTV classification. According to operators Wolfgang Lutz and Ralf Maihöfer, guests are staying longer — typically two to three days, with some bookings of up to three weeks. In 2027, when the Landesgartenschau ends, the former exhibition grounds are expected to become freely accessible to campers.
