The Ibaraki Prefecture Disaster Prevention Association has created a pamphlet titled "Key Points for Sleeping in Cars During Disasters: For Those Who Must Sleep in Their Vehicles." The pamphlet is being distributed free of charge until October 4 at the "Disaster Prevention Family Festival" held at Adastria Mito Arena in Mito City. The 8-page full-color pamphlet uses illustrations and photographs to explain the risks of sleeping in cars, including heatstroke and economy class syndrome, as well as useful items to prepare and ways to stay comfortable inside the vehicle. A total of 1,000 copies were produced with funding from the prefecture's NPO activity support project. The association plans to make the pamphlet available for download on its website in the future.
