Fukuoka City and Nogata City in Fukuoka Prefecture have introduced toilet trailers for natural disasters. The trailers feature stalls with electricity and water supply, operate during power outages, and CAN be deployed to other municipalities.

On April 23, Fukuoka City unveiled a toilet trailer at the city hall parking lot for use during natural disasters. The unit is equipped with four isolated toilet stalls with power supply and flushing system. The mayor emphasized the importance of the TKB (toilet, kitchen, bed) concept to prevent disaster-related deaths. Plans include equipping all city districts with such trailers, providing 30 folding beds per school district, and concluding agreements with businesses for hot meals at shelters. In autumn, small toilet vehicles will be deployed in seven districts. In May, the trailer will be used in large-scale exercises in Kumamoto Prefecture.

On April 24, Nogata City (Fukuoka Prefecture) announced the acquisition of a toilet trailer. It is towed by a vehicle, operates during power outages, and CAN be sent to assist other municipalities. The exterior design was created by 12-year-old paper-cut artist KEN, appointed as a hometown support ambassador. The decision followed the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake, where poor sanitation led to deaths from refusal to eat and drink.
