The 10th anniversary Camino de Santiago motorhome route will start on July 1 from A Coruña, supported by the city council. Participation has been confirmed for 53 motorhomes and 120 travelers, mostly from outside Galicia. The route lasts 12 days. Dozens of motorhomes have gathered at the Riazor parking lot. One of them, a Concorde Liner, is 12 meters long and equipped with a garage for a car the size of a Fiat 500. Organizers estimate the economic impact of the event at nearly 250,000 euros.
José Luis Quintero, president of the Spanish Federation of Motorhome Associations, said that almost all spots for July and August are already booked. Spain has 175,000 motorhomes, 25,000 of them in Andalusia. According to Quintero, a motorhome allows a family to stay isolated, avoiding shared areas with infection risk. The federation notes that some municipalities have driving bans, although by law parking on public roads is allowed nationwide.
