Motorhome boom continues: Valencia's overnight areas are insufficient

Spanish company Nomade Nation has unveiled the Space camper van, built on a 6-meter Fiat Ducato. It features a full kitchen, shower, toilet, and an electric lift bed hidden in the ceiling. The base price starts at €70,000 in Spain, but import to the Netherlands can push the total over €100,000.

In May, sales of new motorhomes and campervans in Spain reached 785 units, a 28% increase year-on-year. The campervan segment saw a notable rise of 61.5% to 394 registrations, with 111 units being urban vans (up 88.1%). New caravan sales also grew by 23.3% to 143 units. On the second-hand market, motorhome and campervan sales increased by 13.9%, while used caravan sales fell by 12.7%.

The town hall of Belmonte de Miranda (Asturias) issued an official statement regarding the overnight stay of a group of motorhomes near the Las Ayalgas Museum. Participants assured police at 11:00 PM that they would not stay overnight, but at 8:00 AM officers confirmed that they had indeed stayed. The town hall emphasized that the event was not authorized, despite being planned since February 20, and reminded that a new municipal motorhome area is available.

Central Lechera Asturiana is running a promotion offering a chance to win a 2026 Benimar Mileo 263 motorhome valued at approximately €80,000. The 7.39-meter model on a Fiat chassis sleeps up to five people, features twin beds convertible into a double, an electric drop-down bed, a separate shower, and a Truma diesel heater. To enter, participants must purchase the brand's products, keep the receipt, and register online by uploading a photo of the receipt before June 30.
