Spanish couple moves into motorhome to avoid rent

José and Patri, creators of the Aventuras Jose y Patri channel, gave up renting and moved into a motorhome. They argue that motorhome payments are comparable to rent, but the investment can be recovered upon resale. The couple plans to travel across Spain and Europe while continuing their work with clients through their project Málaga Entrena.

Zierbena opens new smart motorhome area with 30 spaces

The Biscayan town of Zierbena has inaugurated its new motorhome area in La Arena, with capacity for 30 vehicles. Managed by TripStop under the La Arena Camper Park brand, the facility includes two eco-sanitary stations for grey and black water disposal, drinking water supply, electrical hookups at all pitches, lighting, signage, landscaped areas and a small picnic area. It features an intelligent management system with automated license plate access, 24-hour video surveillance and online booking via the TripStop platform. The municipal investment exceeded 400,000 euros.

Motorhome tourism surges in Spain: 'Here to stay'

Motorhome travel in Spain has grown by 185% over the past decade, according to Alexandre, manager of a motorhome rental company in Vigo. He told COPE that this form of tourism is 'here to stay', citing growing demand for freedom and family travel. While parking areas remain limited, more are being created. Peak season runs from late June to early September, with a minimum rental period of seven days.
